Hi to everyone in the forum, and thanks for reading

This year i return to Islay for the second time, after a six day visit in the 2007. This time i spent 8 days there.
The last time i was go with my girlfriend, this time i'll go alone in the days between 10 to 18 August.

What it's your suggestion for an alone week there?
And your experience about?

Anyone here maybe there on the same days? I'm happy to share an Ale or a wee dram with...

...Islay, Islay, and of course, ISLAY!

Hi Rudy, I wish I would be there to have a dram with you but I'm going back in October. You are lucky though to go in this period. The Islay Agricultural Show will be held on the 12th of August at Bridgend and I'm sure you will love it.

Try to get yourself the wee booklet from the marketing group with all the nice walks inside, this will keep you busy for a while. Here is more info on the Islay Walks Guide It is for sale at Roy's and the Tourist Information Office.

And of course there is so much more to do. What you definitely should do is go to Debbies in Bruichladdich, have a good coffee and enjoy the views and watch the world go by.

Have a look on http://www.islayinfo.com and find out what's on offer. Don't forget to visit the Isle of Jura http://www.jurainfo.com as well Big Grin

Let me know if you have any questions or send me a pm

Good to hear from you by the way Big Grin

Cheers
Ron

Hi Ron ! Happy to hear you again too !
I readed the article about the Guide Booklet and i surely bought it, with an Ordnance Survey Map also, as suggested in the review you linked.
This time i surely stop at Debbie's! With two day more than the last time i have a lot of things that i can do more, and a lot of place to see!
This time i don't miss Finlaggan Centre and The Agricultural Show, but maybe the Aerial Show at the airport !
I have a lot of picture and video to take!
And Jura... Sure i don't miss this time !
Anyway thanks ! If i need further suggestion i surely write you...

Hi Friend !
Thanks for the wishes ! I'm at Ardbeg on the 11 August in the morning.
I 'll go there by walking this time, make my visit, and as Committee Member it's a sort of pilgrimage, enjoy time there, had a lunch and try the famous Cloothie Dumpling.
All the day i proudly wear my kilt, maybe if you are around Port Ellen we'll be met !
Have a nice stay !!
