Would Calmac have a name for something like that? A ferry solstice perhaps?
I guess that's the charm of Island life Gordon
Just been reading your update on the ferry situation , i always thought the Isle of Arran was the spare ferry ?
They've took off what i would class as the better ferry as well !
This is one reason why when i book our crossings i always try and get the one's that won't be removed ( 7am or 1pm from Kennacraig , 9.45am from PE or 3.30pm from PA) .
Would it not be better for them to try and squeeze in extra sailings with the one ferry when this happens ? I was told early on during my visits to Islay that the reason the journey takes so long is due to fuel economy and not the vessels speed , would this not be helpful to the islands economy ? I know another thing will be the crews working hours but surely there's a spare crew floating around when there's a ship in dock.......
I know......i'm been too logical and not thinking the Calmac way...........
