Islay Ferry 2 Vessel Timetable to Resume Saturday 8th March

Calmac sent out the following information this afternoon: "After successful rudder repairs MV Isle of Lewis is currently on route back to Stornoway where it will pick up the Ullapool / Stornoway service as of tomorrow (Friday 7th March 2014). MV Isle Of Arran will depart Stornoway tomorrow morning bound for Port Askaig where it will berth overnight after MV Finlaggan departs at 20:15hrs and will pick up the Port Askaig / Colonsay / Oban service on Saturday 8th March 2014.

We do regret the inconvenience caused and are very aware that this disruption and the earlier issues with the MV Caledonian Isles have left Islay with a single vessel service for some time. We are pleased that the additional sailings that have been provided by the MV Finlaggan have coped with demand, but recognise it is not ideal. We are grateful for the patience and understanding of the Islay community during this time and their support for fellow islanders whose own ferry was unavailable.

Normal 2 vessel timetable will resume on the Islay Service as of Saturday 8th March 2014.
