I am usually not in the photo mood when we leave Islay since we consider this a rather sad event but this time things were different. The weather was great, it was bright, we just had a fabulous week behind us and it was autumn, as you can see from the lovely colours, particularly on the Isle of Jura. It was an experiment too because I hadn't tried before to make a panorama picture from a moving vessel, but I think I succeeded rather well. This Islay panorama picture covers roughly the area from Glen Logan on the left to Port Askaig and Rhuvaal all the way to Glas Eilean on Jura. Interesting detail is the fact that Colonsay is visible in the far distance on the other side of the Sound of Islay. I took another panorama image from the Sound of Islay the day before from a nice viewpoint near Bunnahabhain. I hope you enjoy this new panorama.
