Small Islands Film Festival

at ICCI Preparations for the Small Islands Film Festival 2008 are progressing well and is set to include the beautiful Gaelic feature film 'Seachd' on the Friday evening with an opportunity to see the 'The Maggie' on the big screen on the Saturday evening. The Festival will take place at Ionad Chaluim Chille Ìle from Friday 3rd October to Sunday 5th October. A strong selection of Islay documentaries will be shown throughout the weekend and this is likely to include the 1939 Ruby Grierson film 'Cargo for Ardrossan' and the 1942 film 'Coastal Command'. These will be complemented by a selection of shorter documentaries on Islay from the 50s and 60s. A full programme will be in the next Ileach.

The Film Festival is keen to have a full range of film footage of Islay life past and present. If you have or know of any films, either amateur or professional, that would be of interest or if you would like to get involved then please contact Ionad Chaluim Chille ÃŒle on 810818.
