Oil supplies to Islay
In case you wonder what the status is of the oil supplies to Islay, the Ileach wrote something about that in the latest issue: "On-going problems at Bruichladdich pier, the weather, Christmas, New Year and the lack of availability of the oil tanker "Keewhit" means that there have been no ship borne deliveries of oil to Islay since November. The distilleries have had to make alternative arrangements to bring in the heavy oil they require by road and ferry. Winter 2007/8 is the first during the majority of which Islay has been served by two ferries which means that ferry capacity has been available to transport the fourteen road tankers a week required to fuel the island."
