Five new Islay Websites
With the increase of tourism on Islay more and more people decide to convert their properties into holiday accommodations and this results in an increase in the number of beds for tourists and websites! In the last few weeks I found four new websites, and built one myself, that I would like to present here.
The first website however isn't accommodation related but very much worth mentioning. We start in Port Ellen and the first website is about the Port Ellen Angling Club. Their website provides you with information regarding the many lochs on Islay where there's a good chance of catching wild brown trout. There is a news section with the latest club updates, competition dates, boat rentals and permits. If you want to read about some of the members' magnificent fishing experiences you can try the Fishing Reports section. Good luck with the brownies and the website! Continue reading.....Back to Bowmore where there are three new accommodations available. The first one is a lovely old house which is converted into a Bed and Breakfast. The house is called Tigh Na Fhothannan and is located in School Street, between the Bowmore Distillery and Islay High School. This B&B has one spacious family room with en-suite and a twin cabin room. The B&B is owned by Mari Johnson and she can be contact by email. The B&B offers splendid views over Loch Indaal, something the new Self Catering cottage on the other side of Bowmore has to offer as well. This whitewashed cottage on Shore Street has had a seven months lasting reconstruction and offers visitors everything they could wish for. The cottage is called 26 Shore Street and the website contains all the information you need including contact details. On that same Shore Street another house was converted into a self catering unit and this accommodation is called Shore House, again offering magnificent views over Loch Indaal. The owner of this property is Mrs Anne McGill and she can be contacted by email as well.
Magnificent views and sunsets over Loch Indaal
From Bowmore we head back to Port Ellen to find a new website for the Troutfly Bed and Breakfast. This B&B existed for quite some time already and they too have a new website where you can find more information and pictures. The Troutfly is located in Charlotte Street and you can find their website here.
All these accommodations, and much more, are also available in the Bed and Breakfast and/or Self Catering Accommodation pages on the Islayinfo Website and the Islay Accommodation Directory.
