Yesterday the regular ferry service was cancelled on Islay due to high winds and today Islay's new ferry MV Finlaggan arrived at Port Askaig for the first time, it's hopefully a good sign that the first arrival wasn't cancelled by the weather gods. She made a successful berth at Port Askaig as you can see from the images below which were kindly supplied by Ewan Graham of the Ballygrant Inn. Islay's new ferry was handed over last week at the shipyard in Poland where she was built. There will be a ceremonial cruise tomorrow with important guests and after that she will join the Hebridean Isles on the Kennacraig to Islay route. I'm sure there will be lot's more news and pictures later on so stay tuned for updates, either on Twitter or on this blog.
