Three Loch Gruinart Islay Panorama Images

When I woke up this morning I saw and heard geese flying over our house. We have around sixty resident geese here who stay in the area the whole year round. Hearing the geese made me aware of the fact that a couple of weeks from now the first geese will arrive on Islay, all the way from Greenland. The geese usually arrive on Islay at Loch Gruinart when the northerly winds start to blow in the autumn.

Thinking of Loch Gruinart and the geese I went through my pictures and found quite a few of them which were suitable for a panorama image so I created three new panorama images this afternoon. You can see the full panorama by clicking on the image.

Loch Gruinart seen from Gruinart Farm
This first image is from the autumn in 2008 when I walked the track next to Gruinart Farm
down to the loch to spot the geese that came in to roost. The setting sun spread a
beautiful light over the area.

Loch Gruinart from Craigens Farm
This image is from the autumn of 2008 as well and I was standing close to
Craigens farm on the east side of Loch Gruinart. There are thousands of geese
visible on the left-side in the grass and salt marshes.

Loch Gruinart Panorama from Crois Mhor
This third panorama image is from March this year and taken not far from Crois Mhor,
the abandoned cottage with the red tin roof.

I was on Islay a couple of weeks ago for a few days, my first time there, even though the rain was horizontal, I can't wait to get back there.
