Kilchoman Released their very first Islay Single Malt Whisky

Today 9/9/9 Kilchoman launched it's inaugural whisky release. To a packed malt floor at the distillery, Anthony Wills gave a brief history of the ups and downs (mainly downs!) of the company so far, before respected whisky author Charles MacLean put forward the suggestion that Scottish whisky distilling possibly started on Islay and quite possibly at Kilchoman.

It was then left to Production Director Jim Swan to ask piper James MacEachern to pipe in a dram for the guests where one commented that it was possibly better than older whiskies from established distilleries. Bottle sales were brisk and the bottle goes on general sale to the public tomorrow, Thursday.

The following UK distributors will have the Kilchoman whisky in their shop tomorrow: Loch Fyne Whiskies, Inverary, Royal Mile Whiskies, Edinburgh and London, The Whisky Exchange, London, The Whisky Shop, Dufftown, Whiskies of Scotland, Huntly, Jeroboams/Milroys of Soho, London, The Vintage House, London and The Wee Dram, Bakewell. The Kilchoman Single Malt Whisky is also available in 13 other countries. Continue reading.....
