Some Islay Pictures can Say More than a Thousand Words

Snow Capped Paps of Jura in the Moonlight Looking over Loch Indaal

I guess it's true that a picture can say more than a thousand words. Mark Unsworth of Islay Studios was on his way home this afternoon when he witnessed this magical scene. A view over Loch Indaal towards the snow-capped Paps of Jura complimented with a full moon and a clear sky. Absolutely fabulous, many thanks Mark for sharing this with all the readers.

A great photo and while you see more in the larger version, the effect is lost by having to scroll up and down and losing either the bottom or top as a result... resizing it so the height was closer to 728 might be better Ron!

I had to make a comprimise Bruce and felt the picture was too good to resize and would end up too small. I will try and play around with it a bit and see what happens on the screen. If it still looks fine I will change it.

And yes it is a great photo, Mark is a very gifted photographer and this one was taken with his new Hasselblad Camera. I think he mentioned it has around 40 Megapixels.... that's what you can do when you are a professional :-)

40MP? And there's me and Linda thinking we're doing good looking at upgrading to a 10-12MP camera! Then again, a professional one is outside our budget just now... although resorting to film again (something I still consider from time to time) will solve that problem! Anyway, its a great photo and I doubt reducing the size will affect it... after all the version on the forum doesn't look as if its lost any of the quality!

What a stunning photograph! [sigh] When it gets a bit stressful at work, I will come here and just look into that photo for a while......it does wonders for my psyche....
