It’s not that campsites and restaurants on Islay necessarily have a relation with each other but these are the last two new pages on the islayinfo website.
In a few weeks time a new campsite will open on Islay, half a mile from Port Charlotte where you can find shops and restaurants. The campsite is located near the new Port Mor centre and will welcome visitors with tents, caravans and motorhomes. Some of the facilities are: Showers, toilets, disabled toilets, baby changing facilities, childrens playpark, beach, football pitch. The campsite will be open all year round. Electric hook-up points for motorhomes aren't available. This will be the second campsite on Islay, the first being the site at Kintra Farm. More details and up-to-date information about the campsites can be found on the new page: Islay Campsites
Eating out on Islay and tasting it's local produce is one of the many things that make Islay such a special place to be. And the great thing is that Islay has more restaurants than you might think. I made a comprehensive list and counted eighteen restaurants so far.

Bowmore has five restaurants: The Harbour Inn at the Square, The Cottage Restaurant in Bowmore Main Street, Lochside Hotel on Shorestreet, Bowmore Hotel on Jamieson street Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant on Shore Street.
Port Charlotte has three restaurants: The Croft Kitchen opposite the Museum of Islay Life, Lochindaal Hotel on Main Street and the Port Charlotte Hotel.
You can find other restaurants in Bridgend at the Bridgend Hotel, An Tigh Seinnse in Portnahaven, the Ballygrant Inn and Restaurant in Ballygrant, the Port Askaig Hotel in Port Askaig and don't forget Debbies Minimarket in Bruichladdich for a great coffee!
