Islay Music and Whisky Tasting Fundraiser with Martine Nouet

The success of the first Music and Whisky tasting proved it last year; as Robert Burns said, “music and whisky gang together...” Hosted as a a fundraising initiative by the Friends of Cantilena, Islay to support Cantilena Music Festival, the event this year will feature Chamber music and four great single malts from the ‘Whisky Island’. Martine Nouet, a whisky writer and Islay resident will take the audience through an exciting sensory experience, while Cantilena musicians will accompany the whisky flavours with appropriate music. Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi Boccherini… Bruichladdich, Bunnahabhain, Ardbeg, Lagavulin, all during an hour of enjoyment and discovery. When tasting notes and musical notes gather, harmony is the key!

The Music and Whisky Tasting will be hosted by Martine Nouet, Angus Ramsay and Cantilena musicians, and thanks are due for the generous donation by the distilleries; Ardbeg, Lagavulin, Bruichladdich and Bunnahabhain. The event will take place on Tuesday 3rd July 2012 at 3.30 pm (precisely) to 5.00 pm at Islay Hotel, Port Ellen. Seating is limited, so please book as soon as possible. People who must drive will be given whisky tasting samples to bring home; please advise when booking. Bookings can be made at the Celtic Shop Bowmore 01496 810304 or with Martine Nouet 07946 935765 or email. For more information on the Cantilena Music Festival see www.cantilenafestival.co.uk
