On the 6th, 7th and 8th of July the Festival of the Sea will return to Port Ellen Green. With a stonker of an itinerary, this years event promises to be a great weekend. A full list of events will be published in the next ‘Ileach’ and on this blog. Bookings are open for the Stramash Sailing Experience and Hebridean Pursuits Coasteering Excursions. In the run-up to the Festival of the Sea, a ceilidh will be held at Ardbeg Distillery at 7.30pm on Saturday the 23rd of June. ‘Ceilidh, Cullen Skink & Clootie’ will offer a delicious seafood feast prepared by Ardbeg’s Old Kiln Café, complimentary drams of the amber nectar followed by some excellent traditional music. Tickets must be booked in advance by calling Ardbeg on 302244 or Lauries of Islay on 302264. All proceeds go towards funding the Festival of the Sea.
