Calmac sent out the following information this afternoon:
Further to MV Isle of Arran being unable to berth in Port Ellen at 12:00hrs today, the vessel will return to Kennacraig where it will tie up for the rest of today.
The MV Hebridean Isles will now operate a delayed 13:00hrs sailing from Kennacraig to Port Askaig as a PASSENGER ONLY SERVICE. On completion of this service and due to the adverse weather forecast this evening, the 15:30hrs & 17:00hrs sailings from Islay today have been CANCELLED and the 18:00hrs sailing from Kennacraig tonight (Thursday 11th November) has been CANCELLED.
This in effect will mean that the 07:00hrs sailing from Islay tomorrow (Friday 12th November) will leave from PORT ASKAIG not Port Ellen, again this will be operating as a PASSENGER ONLY SERVICE.
Summary of remainder of todays sailings as follows :

17:00hrs - Port Ellen - Kennacraig Cancelled
18:00hrs - Kennacraig - Port Ellen Cancelled
For the latest updates check out the Calmac Status Page. Rumours about a damaged ferry terminal in Port Ellen seem to be related to the fact that the Port Ellen roundhead got hit last week by one of the ferries but got inspected the other day and all is good now. Its the weather that's been the problem.
