Islay Ferry Services and Winter Schedules
The ferry winter schedule is in operation from end of October 2018 until 28th of March 2019. This is the period that it's somewhat quieter on the ferries and also the period that the two regular Islay Ferries, the Finlaggan and Hebridean Isles, get their annual maintenance period. In the past this has caused disruptions around the start of the tourist season around Easter time as the return of one of the ferries was delayed. For 2019 the maintenance schedule looks more favourable as both ferries will have had their annual maintenance before the end of February. Islay will return to a two vessel service starting the 15th of February 2019, if all goes as planned. Fingers crossed here. - 2nd November to the 16th November: MV Finlaggan & MV Hebridean Isles (2 vessel service)
- 17th November to 4th of December: MV Hebridean Isles Docking
- 17th November to 4th of December: MV Finlaggan Single Vessel
- 5th December to 31st December: MV Finlaggan & MV Hebridean Isles (2 vessel service)
1st January 2019 to 28th March 2019
- 1st of January 2019 - No service
- 2nd of January to 14th February: MV Finlaggan Single Vessel
- 15th February to 28th February: MV Hebridean Isles & MV Isle of Arran (2 vessel service)
- 16rh February - 28th February: MV Finlaggan Docking
- 1st March - 28th March: MV Finlaggan & MV Hebridean Isles (2 vessel service)
- 29th March: Start of Summer Schedule
