"CMAL made a big splash in Poland in June, by launching new vessel MV FINLAGGAN sideways into the water at the Remontowa Shipyard in Gdansk." These were the words from the press release CMAL issued in June. Time therefore for another update of the new Islay Ferry. I've contacted John Salton from CMAL and he was kind enough to send me some pictures taken in the last weeks. As you can see the work on the exterior is making good progress and the third layer of coating has been applied. Interesting feature of the new ferry is the hoistable deck, something the current Islay ferries don't have.
