Islay in Black and White - Old and New

I have two interesting image related sites on offer tonight. One of them is a familiar one, the other one probably unknown to many of you unless you follow Jez Hastings of Islay Birding on Twitter.

I will start with the site that Jeremy pointed out this afternoon of Warren Sanders which contains very beautiful black and white photography of a bushcraft and biking weekend in July 2009. No words, just pictures, and besides dramatic Islay landscapes you will see some familiar faces and places related to the Velo Club d'Ardbeg. The image shows Michael Hastings, the mighty Dave T, brian palmer, Jez Hastings and someone I can't identify. Check out the beautiful images by clicking here.

The second site is the good old Ileach Flickr website which recently recieved quite a few black and white images of the Otranto disaster which took placce in October 1918. The photographs are taken by Archibald Cameron from the collection of Mr Watson of Northern Ireland. Many of the photos show Lieutentant Jeffers who was working for the American Red Cross in the aftermath.
