Islay Jura and Colonsay Agricultural Show

On Thursday 11th of August the 165th Islay Show will be held at the Show Field in Bridgend. It's an agricultural show with cattle, horses, sheep, ponies, dogs and flowers. For an idea of what you can expect have a look at last years pictures. The Islay Show is entertainment for all ages and there is a Tea Tent and Beer Tent on the show grounds. This year the Islay show will have a magical touch because Rachel MacNeill will present her Wild and Magic Islay travel company in her new and beautifully painted Tipi where she will also sell her new clothing line. There are a lot of other side stalls including local producers and a lot of other entertainment such as:

  • Above & Beyond (Trapeze Act)

  • Jugglers/Street entertainers
  • Poultry/Small Pets Display Corner
  • Woodcarver
  • Islay & Jura Dog Management Team Display
  • Sheep Shearing Demonstrations
  • Vintage Cars & Tractors
  • Islay Pipe Band and Highland Dancers

Admission: Adult £5, Children and OAP’s £3 or Value Family Ticket £14 (allowing entry for two adults and up to three children). There is an official Show Dance in Rhinns Hall Portnahaven featuring ‘Pneumatic Drills’. This dance starts at 10pm, Admission is £8.00 and there is a bus leaving from Port Ellen at 9.00pm £10.00 Return.
