Islay 42 Years Ago
Gavin, a frequent visitor of Jura, sent me a link to an album on flickr with Scotland pictures. In the album are a couple of Islay pictures taken in 1968, a time of which you don't find much digital images or any other images for that matter. I was very much impressed with the images below of Port Askaig and Bowmore. You will find some more beautiful images of Port Askaig, the Lochiel ferry and other views of Islay here. It's only 42 years ago but what a different time, a different view and yet so much similarities with present times. The excellent images belong to Kenneth Connell and they were all taken by his uncle on his Kodak camera using Kodachrome film. Reminds me of the song Kodachrome by Paul Simon :-)
