In a Christmas Special at Channel 5 we see iconic haulage giants Eddie Stobart deliver Christmas to Britain. The legendary trucks and truckers are in the thick of it facing one of their busiest times of the year as they become Santa’s helpers. Stobart’s seasonal drivers battle through wind, rain, sleet and snow to ensure that the supermarket shelves are stocked. One trucker gets in the spirit of Christmas as he attempts to pick up a load of whiskey from a remote Scottish Island, as we all know he did succeed on Islay.
The Ileach wrote: "A big rig from the famous Eddie Stobart trucking company made a surprise visit to Islay early December, complete with film crew who were shooting a Christmas special for Channel Five’s “Eddie Stobart’s Trucks, Trains and Planesâ€. The big Volvo was pulling a trailerload of new but empty tins for the Bruichladdich Bottling Hall, where they were filmed being filled and then re-loaded onto the truck for shipment to markets in the UK and Germany." "Stobart’s warehouse the tins for Bruichladdich when they come in from the manufacturer and the idea was to show the various difficulties encountered in the logistics business - and they certainly got their moneys worth because another landslip closed the A83 forcing a serious detour on the return trip."

Another trucker of Eddie Stobart ventures into the wilds as he collects a massive Christmas tree for Boyzone's Shane Lynch. Whilst one of long-haul truckers takes on a special international mission to take some festive fare to British troops abroad.
The Special is showing at 7pm on Christmas Eve and again at 9pm on Christmas Day on Channel 5.
