Autumn on Islay
Every season has its charms but for me Autumn is my absolute favourite. I just love the colours of the trees and the hills, the misty days, the first winter storms and heavy showers, the echo of the stags between the hills during the rut, the dramatic light in between the dark skies, the crisp mornings, and also the beautiful sunny days that remind me of summer but feel chilly at the same time. Autumn is also the season that the geese arrive on Islay, flying south on the northerly winds from the north Atlantic and the time of year when we visit Islay, the island is great in this time of year. That's why I went through my images and found a couple of pictures taken in the autumn of 2008 to show you what the island looks like in this time of year.
