Rare Auction of Islay Whiskies for Ciara
In aid of The Ciara Caskie Allan Appeal, the distillery managers of Islay have gathered together a unique collection of 12 bottlings, eleven Islay single malt whiskies plus one from Jura, selected individually from private collections and personally signed. Some are hand-vatted, some old, some rare, all collectable and with a story to tell. The lot is to be sold as an entire collection to the highest bidder at the request of all the distillery managers. It will become a slice of Islay history.

In the meanwhile the national media have picked up this amazing story and the Times published an article on their website titled "Community spirit in action as rare whisky sale helps cancer girl". A quote:
One of the most exclusive collections of Islay whisky is being auctioned this month as part of an extraordinary community effort to help a seriously ill girl. The 12 bottles of Islay and Jura whiskies, all of which have been donated by distillery managers from their personal collections, are being sold to raise money for 12-year-old Ciara Allan. Ciara, from Bowmore on the Isle of Islay, has had a brain tumour since she was three years old and all attempts to treat it in this country, including three operations, have failed.
