Today, thursday 8th of August, sees the 167th Annual Show of Cattle, Horses, Sheep, Ponies, Dogs, Flowers and Special Features at Show Field Bridgend. The show is organised by the Islay, Jura and Colonsay Agricultural Association. The Islay Show is probably the best visited event of the year and it's a fantastic day out for everyone.

Featuring this year are a Clan show bike team, caricature artist, woodcarver, Islay Pipe Band, Ella Edgar's Highland Dancers, Islay & Jura Dog Management team display, classic cars and tractors, shearing display, children's games, heavy events and entertainment for all ages together with a variety of trade stands, a tea tent and beer tent.

Admission for adults £6, children and OAP's £3 or buy a value family ticket for £15. The official show dance will be held tonight at 10pm at the Rhinns Hall in Portnahaven featuring Trail West. Admission here £8
